Who Would Win? Animal Showdown Runner-Up!
Congratulations to Alan Z., runner-up in Scholastic's Who Would Win? Animal Showdown contest. Scholastic received thousands of very interesting and impressively awesome suggestions from students around the country about which animal is most fierce. Alan's entry included shocking facts, beautiful drawings and wonderful descriptions of the leopard seal. As a runner-up, Alan won a Who Would Win? library for home and one for the classroom!
Congratulations Alan!

Spring Conferences
Spring conferences are right around the corner - April 2-3 and 9-10. Please be sure you have scheduled a conference with me either using our Volunteer Spot site or via another form of communication. I look forward to our conversations in the coming weeks!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Room 44 will celebrate Valentine's Day on Friday February 14th, 2014. Valentines should be given to every classmate because you will receive one from everyone, too! Please make sure there is NO FOOD/CANDY attached to the valentines. You do not need to buy valentines. Homemade cards are very special. If your cards are ready before February 14, you may bring them into class. If you are going away and will not be in school on the Valentine’s Day, bring your cards early so we can hand them out for you!
Winter Break begins Friday December 20th at 3:15 p.m. School will resume on Thursday January 2nd.
See you in the new year!
